What We Offer New Courses Vocal Dance Music Speech Therapy Showcase

Planetshakers School of Creative Arts offers Speech Therapy for all ages for singing, speaking and literacy needs. Speech sessions are held on a weekly or fortnightly basis for assessment and therapy. Speech Therapy services offer voice training for singers and speakers, assessment and therapy for articulation, delayed language, understanding and using language to communicate, stuttering, reading, writing and swallowing difficulties. Individual sessions, group sessions and workshops are available. Please find the description of Speech Therapy services below.

 

 

SPEECH THERAPY ASSESMENT

Voice Assessment
A one and a half hour assessment to determine a singer/speaker’s vocal health and to ascertain if there are any vocal difficulties. Voice assessment uses acoustic analysis to determine the average and range in pitch, volume, vocal quality, posture, breathing, resonance, and articulation. An assessment report will also be provided for your future records. 

 

Speech, Language and Literacy Assessment
A one and a half hour assessment to determine if an adult or child’s speech and language is age appropriate. Assessment will be tailored to meet the needs of individuals, but may include assessment of speech sounds, stuttering, reading, writing, understanding language, using language to communicate, language delay and/or swallowing. An assessment report will also be provided for your future records.  

 

 

SPEECH THERAPY SESSIONS

Voice Speech Therapy
Voice Speech Therapy sessions are for individuals with voice disorders or difficulties. For example, people experiencing vocal discomfort, voice loss, people with hoarse or scratchy voices, vocal nodules, muscle tension dysphonia, and vocal strain. Speech Therapy involves scientifically proven therapy techniques to rehabilitate the voice, improve a singer/speaker’s vocal quality, and significantly reduce vocal discomfort and voice loss.

 

Speech, Language and Literacy Therapy
Speech and Language Speech Therapy sessions are available for children and adults with difficulties saying sounds correctly, delayed language, understanding language, using language to communicate, stuttering, reading and writing difficulties, and swallowing difficulties. Speech Therapy involves scientifically proven therapy techniques to improve a person’s speech, language, literacy and swallowing.  

 

 

SPEECH THERAPY SINGING LESSONS

Speech Therapy Singing Lessons are for singers who want to improve their vocal range, vocal control and vocal efficiency. Speech Therapy Singing Lessons involve scientifically proven therapy techniques to improve a singer’s vocal quality, with an emphasis on using the voice in a healthy way to ensure the best sounding and long lasting quality. Also teaching how the vocal tract can be manipulated and controlled to produce the singing qualities and styles desired.  

 

 

GROUP SPEECH THERAPY LESSONS

Group Therapy Lessons: Singers
Group Therapy Singing Lessons are for singers wanting to improve their vocal range, vocal control and vocal efficiency with other singers in a fun and interactive environment.  Group Therapy Singing Sessions are practical, hands on lessons incorporating scientifically proven therapy techniques to improve a singer’s vocal quality. An emphasis is placed on using the voice in a healthy way to ensure the best sounding and long lasting quality. Also teaching how the vocal tract can be manipulated and controlled to produce the singing qualities and styles desired.

 

Group Therapy Lessons: Speakers
Group Therapy Speaker Sessions are for speakers wanting to improve their vocal endurance and projection with other speakers in a fun and interactive environment. Group Therapy Speaker Sessions are practical, hands on lessons incorporating scientifically proven therapy techniques to improve a speaker’s vocal quality, vocal efficiency and vocal projection. The sessions place an emphasis on using the voice in a healthy way to ensure the best sounding and long lasting quality.
